Contract register · Deadlines · Cost rollups

ContractCheck

One register for every contract – notice periods and automatic renewals tracked, cancel-by dates computed for you, documents kept with the record, and yearly cost rollups that show what each agreement really costs.

We improve this app with real-world use. Bug reports, rough edges, and ideas help – open a GitHub Issue or write to info@software-by-design.de.

What it does

Missed notice periods are expensive: a contract renews for another year because nobody saw the cancel-by date. ContractCheck computes those dates from the terms you enter, keeps every contract findable, and rolls up what they cost per year – inside your own Nextcloud, free and open source.

Cancel-by engine

Deterministic deadline computation from notice period and anchor – month end, quarter end, year end, or any date.

Automatic renewals

Renewal clauses are tracked explicitly; a missed window is flagged, not silently rolled over into the next term.

Contract register

Every contract with parties, status, categories and full-text search – urgent cancellations surface on the dashboard.

Linked documents

Contracts stay next to their files in Nextcloud – the PDF and the register entry reference each other.

Cost rollups

Yearly cost entries and totals per contract and per report – see what the portfolio actually costs.

ICS deadline feed

Subscribe once and every cancel-by date lands in the calendar you already use – no separate reminder app.

Export & reports

CSV/PDF export and overview reports for review meetings, audits, and handovers.

Audit & history

Revision history plus an audit trail on changes – who changed which deadline stays reconstructable.

Where it fits – and where it doesn’t

ContractCheck tracks the contracts you already have. It is deliberately not e-signature, contract drafting, or invoicing – the register covers deadlines, documents, and cost visibility.

  • BudgetCheck – where contract costs land in your budget planning; ContractCheck supplies the yearly cost per agreement. Available now
  • ProjectCheck – project hours and invoicing; ContractCheck covers the standing agreements behind them. Available now

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes – the whole app is AGPL-3.0-or-later with no paid tier and no feature locks. Development is funded by sponsorships and commissioned work, so if it saves you a missed notice period, GitHub Sponsors is how you keep it maintained.

How do deadlines reach my calendar?

Subscribe to the app’s ICS feed once – every computed cancel-by date then appears in your calendar automatically. No account, no separate reminder service.
